waiting

waiting

A Poem by slfisher89

I feel worlds apart from you.

Rather here

or there.

When our paths cross;

nothing ever feels real

How could it?

When it happens so little.

The fire burns;

no matter

how rarely it has been stoked.

You can close youself in ice;

but, I must feel all the thorns.

Once, you said

I held the key to your heart, but also the knife.

My soul bleeds for you.

Your mere presence;

can heal it,

Until,

then

I

wait.
