Sucking Chest Wound

Sucking Chest Wound

A Poem by findingme
"

Writen during a dark a turbulent time in my life.

"

Her breath comes in ragged gasps.
Insides aching like they have been scraped away.
A bomb has fallen.  She has a head wound; blood seeps into her eyes
Chest ripped open and her blood pours forth in torrents.

Lying on the cold hard ground of the battlefield, she sees shafts of yellow light shaded red.
She hears the hiss and flailing or chest collapsing with each shallow, gurgling breath.
A surprise attack; an ambush in the peaceful meadow of her life.
Lying on the ground in shock, lying in her sticky, red blood.

It was an inside job, she knows; a traitor in the camp.
Someone who knew her intimately; knew all about her.
One she trusted with her life; her future.
He was the one!  B*****d, traitor, charlatan!

Blood continues to pour fourth, breath shallow, choking.
The light is fading.
She reaches out her hand
The sucking chest wound pours out into the ground and eyes close on the flowers of the meadow.

This is awful and beautiful at the same time. Id like to think it a beginning to a wonderful story. I'd like to see that b*****d get his. Maybe even a wonderful ending to make my day!
