Words

Words

A Poem by Jen Walters

These words I write,
Are felt with all my might.

I keep them close to me,
So that only I may see.

Their permanent value,
And everything they do.

They pile up in my head.
Sometimes they feel like lead

Sometimes my words fill me up,
Eventually they fill my cup.

Sometimes even my words bring me down,
Sometimes I even frown.

Most of the time they are my expression.
They ease my depression.

They are my power,
Hour after hour.

My words will go on,
Even after I am gone.

This I promise you.

I see that writing means a lot to you. Words soothe your mind when grayness ( as I call depression) looms on the horizon. But sometimes they clutter up your head and refuse to spring out in a sensible manner. Yes, words can be so unyielding when inspiration fails us.
And yet, words are your power. Our power. And when we're gone, the things we have said and the pages we have written will remain. :)

I agree. Our words will go on if we teach our knowledge to the next generation.

I feel good life and kindness/love shared. Leave a part of us forever upon the earth. Thank you Jen for sharing the excellent poetry.
