Halloween

Halloween

A Poem by Jen Walters

"Trick or treat, trick or treat give me something good to eat,
Trick or treat, trick or treat give me something good to eat."

That's what the kids say each year,
Halloween costumes meant to scare.
They seek out candy galore,
Each year the children want more and more.

They go from house to house,
Not as quiet as a mouse.
Faces painted meant to arouse,
Fear in the eyes of those not in their house.

The children come home with bags stuffed with candy,
Each piece must be looked at you see.
Before it can be eaten,
It must be inspected.

The favorite ones are chosen to be gobbled up,
The rest go in a bowl or cup.
They go from house to house,
Not as quiet as a mouse.

I like Halloween. Grandchildren have fun dressing up and a lot of candy. Nice description of a wonderful holiday. Thank you for sharing the outstanding poetry.
