Nightmares

Nightmares

A Poem by Jen Walters

Oh bad dreams go away
Don't come back another day.
Please let me get some sleep.
So that I do not have to count any sheep.

You are bad and serve me no good will.
Except to make me sometimes ill.
I am not supposed to remember my dreams
But sometimes you are so scary I have no choice it seems.

Go away go away
Do not come back in any way.
For good or ill
I will use my will.
To force you out of my head.
Or else I fear the night I shall dread.

Why do I have such horrific ideas?
Where do they come from
Why do they linger
