Night Noise

Night Noise

A Poem by Jen Walters

I sit in the dark
Watching the moon climb its arc.
I listen to the crickets
Deep within the thickets.
A black veil covers me
Its all I can ever see.
I am part of the night
I hope it stays the night.
How do I move on?
With the sun dead and gone
I don't know where I belong
Or where my soul has been all along
I remain dead and buried.
My head has planted the seed.
Still the harder I look to see
The more I cannot be.
I sit in the dark
Watching the moon climb its arc.
I cannot wait to see
If there is a chance of sunlight for me.
