Spring's PassingA Poem by Lindsey B.Love comes and goes
What is it like to feel this pain?
The force of fifty-five lions ravenously fighting shredding at my chest,Their claws thrusting into my skin leaving hues of red and black. To have so much trust built into you,Only to realize I was nothing more than ancient artifact- You may look, but not touch. With ropes tied around my neck you always had to check Whether I still had faith in you. Despite my undying love ripped from its cavern laid before you in a pool of red Beating every minute until it went dead. You never knew. Now all that’s left is the stain of our memories of what we once knew,The smell of the dew in spring with its lilies of black effaced into my brain. I remember seeing her on that day- The lady of spring with her golden eyes and her pitch black hair and a jovial look on her face.I couldn’t help but notice as the rays of sun kissed her cheeks and lit a path around her feet, Blazing fire, blazing fire, all I could see was her infinite beauty. Then you came along with your sullen face and your bright blue eyes,Wandering upon the path with no start or end. The lady of spring was just right for you with her goddess features and her gift of life. She touched your soul and then you died, becoming so warm and bright. I watched as you turned from black to golden beneath the blazing sun. You kissed her lips and then I died. Nothing more made us tied, instead we were nothing but the alabaster bones of a long forgotten tale. That is when I knew our love had died with you. I went out with a blaze of fire My face painted white and red with the memories of what you said. © 2016 Lindsey B.Reviews
