Regardless of the truth

Does god exist?

if a man preaches god, then that god is his

family reaching out for god, then that god is bliss

when a nation holds to god, then its a god they miss

regardless of the truth we know god exists

we may think we have no proof, but god can be found in bricks

we play god in the mind, and its not a trick

cause god is everything you need and want to feed

if you been through hell, you need god for kicks

so tell me once again, the stuff science can explain

only to break belief and faith will be in vain

religion is a cause for living, its humanly driven

in the new age its hard to get it

when all ya'll look for is paranormal activity

superstition takes super precision to be sure of what you want

irrelevant of vision, senses in division

you can't calculate faith cause its based on submission 

to the fact that you are ready to create your own truth

and then you got to be your own proof

yeah religion exists but you have choice that sits

right on your own conscious, dont quit

some people want to burn s**t

all those fires we lit

its a service man, more than a game

we all are adults and we know what we are sayin

that we chose to believe so that faith is ours

and if our choices exist, then how doesn't god?

I grew up believing in god, then as i got older i thought god didnt exist, and now im thinking of the lines that god exists all around us, but we get to choose if thats true or not. and that choice will actually create our world for each one of us.

This is very good, compelling in argument. I think the notion of truth is what we are mostly debating today, in this time. Are there absolutes, and who gets to define them seem to be the questions of the moment. I do believe faith is a personal journey and no amount of persecution will change that. Respect, humane treatment of others stretches much further, I believe.

A well written argument and poem. I don't believe in god so I'm probably not the best person to critique these kinds of poems, but you wrote an enjoyable poem and I respect your faith.
I personally believe that people use God(s) as an excuse for whatever their doing or even a reason to be a good person! We are pack animals, we can be good to others in our group without the giant unseen eye watching our every move. But that's just my view on it. Keep up the good work.

Sorry for the late reply, But even I don't believe in god by any definition we have today. And I too believe that people use god for self control. I'm trying to figure out what god means by questioning the different perceptions and definitions of god we have today. Thank you for the review!
