Today Someone Asked Me if I was Happy with My Life

Today Someone Asked Me if I was Happy with My Life

A Poem by Lindsay Lukens
"

This is not a happy poem. Its not the MOST disturbing, but I think its beautiful anyway...of course I'm biased...

"

Today someone asked me
If I was happy
With my life;
Over and
Over; are you satisfied?
My teeth are shredded by
The lies passed through them.
Later, I lay in
Bed screaming,
Feathers hard on my face
Straining shrieks

Through my ruined mouth.

I hear ya on the titles. I HATE coming up with them, but when I do, then need to be powerful, at least to me. Hum, I REALLY like this one. Let's see, the only thing I can suggest is what I do. I think of an emotion that the poem evokes in me, then I hit the thesaurus and hunt down a word that mimics the emotion. Good luck with it! I know how difficult it can be. :)
