This Wind that Is Blowing My MindA Poem by Lindsay LukensAnother poem about love and trees. Its about the one I fell so hard for and inspired me so, so much...
This wind that is blowing my mind
Is bringing you closer to me
And I smile as I think on the movement of the trees.
For days and hours I have watched their reflection
And seen them wave me past
As I remember the dinosaurs
That used to line these streets.
I say I understand as they sway from side to side,
Cast about by the fickle wind.
Perhaps I am not one,
But a forest of you,
All sweeping about in different directions.
Like me they wear their intentions on the outside
And I remember how they danced
That day in summer when
The air and music beat together.
I think again that maybe I want you
And smile from beneath my glasses,
Hungry,
Waiting,
And always dreaming of you.
