Once at Night

Once at Night

A Poem by Lindsay Lukens
"

This is the moment a great affair suddenly ended.

"

Once at night
I sat and wondered if the trees
Would touch the sky in
Twenty years.
Today the sun is low behind their line
And the peach glow played on your glinting skin.
Oh, lord…
