If I Could Tether You to My Belt LoopA Poem by Lindsay LukensThis is another love poem. A slave declaring her love for her Master in the only metaphorical way she knows.
If I could tether you to my belt loop
And adorn you with glass bottles
That chimed when you walk
You would stay within my reach.
When I can bind you to my underbelly
Without the usual pomp and circumstance
Customary to this eventual breach
I would have no need for film.
If I were free a week
And you a day
Before the collar was replaced
And the leash was untied
We could bask in the glow of the stratosphere
Until the last crack of the whip.
