An Epiphany After Two Weeks of SilenceA Poem by Lindsay LukensStanzas of haikus. My lover declines me for two weeks. After those fourteen days, he sees me again for the first time...
I felt you coming
Miles before your barging in.
You say we’re like that.
Always on the floor -
Up to no good by the fridge,
I’ve lain in wait here.
When you spring my trap
I see you slip into place -
Part of that Voo Doo
You ripple to -
And there’s my magic lasso!
Dang’ling round your waist.
As you slide my way
I ask if you’ve had enough;
“Well,” you say, leaning
In towards the fridge,
“I believe I have.” As I
Rope you in, ice falls.
