All Those Times You Looked At Me Sideways and SmilingA Poem by Lindsay LukensSylabic stanza poem; romantic, somewhat sentimental
All those times you looked
At me sideways and smiling,
The question asked by your eyes
I longed to beg – please;
My eyes squeezed tight as my mouth,
Willing feeble cries silent.
Afloat in your warmth –
In-awed by our perfect fit;
‘Yours’ heavy upon my lips
I willingly go,
Spilling my hair and laughter
Over your waiting shoulders.
Do you know, I ask
Licking your taste from my lips,
I decline to deny you?
You turned from me, then,
Blindly touching my face – your
Silence said you believed me.
