He's home

He's home

A Poem by SarahMichelle

He’s Home
the floor shakes
I run & hide
he’s the wrath of a violent tide
that doesn’t love me
but how could he?
Liquor drifted off his breath
Like a breeze at the ocean
but worse
He strangles
He screams
I quiver and cower
God Bless the Angels
but their hands are tied
as they stand in shock and breathless
above my lifeless body

The way you have described the pain and helplessness in this poem is incredibly beautiful. I admire the choice of words in your poem.

"he’s the wrath of a violent tide"
"Liquor drifted off his breath
Like a breeze at the ocean"
These two lines are extremely well-written.

The way you have written the entire poem is truly commendable. The fear, the grief, the helpless all merge together to give a completely new taste which stays long with any reader. Good luck. happy writing. :)
