And Then You Were Gone..

This is a short poem made for my cousin who passed away 4 months ago.

I patiently waited at home, alone

Scared and curious if you'll get home

You're brave I know, I am quite sure

Turns out bravery, isn't really the cure

Alone, I cried and cried and cried

Wiping the tears, thinking I can hide

The suffering and pain it all caused

As if my life was suddenly paused

It's a lie when they said "Time heals pain"

Months have passed, I still cry in the rain

Of all the tears, the feeling remains

Inside my heart where sadness reigns

I stare at the sky every night, every day

Praying you will show yourself either way 

Maybe you're happy, maybe even smiling

To be able to see you, I'll just keep dreaming

I see him in my dreams every now and then, those dreams I hoped would've last twice or thrice longer.

This really hit me because growing up I waited at home for my mom to come to pick me up and she never showed up so she had my sisters and me in tears and now it reminds me of that.
