Unspoken pagesA Poem by Skylar Lighten
Everyone has a chapter of their life they don't read out loud.
Beneath the laughter, a voice whispers, “You’re not enough,” With every “I’m fine,” a thread unravels, binding us to our loneliness, We hide the trembling hands that tremble in the night, Words stuck in our throats, aching to break free like trapped birds, The bruises of yesterday wrapped in stories we dare not share, Caught in the web of misunderstanding, we wear our silence like armor, Eyes that linger too long, searching for truths buried deep beneath the surface, While the heartbeats synchronize, still feeling miles apart, And every unspoken hope feels like a lost letter, never sent, Everyone has a chapter of their life they don't read out loud. © 2024 Skylar Lighten |
