Do you feel like a fool?

Do you feel like a fool?

A Poem by Skylar Lighten

High life, spotlight, do you ever feel content?
Fame and fortune, but inside, it's all spent.

Searching for something more,
But every door around you is closed for sure.

Wanna be a star in their eyes,
But who are you really, behind the disguise?
In the depths of your soul, what do you see?
Just a foggy reflection, so hazy.

Caught up in the glamour,
Lost in the drama, searching for an answer.
Living for the moment, but the moments fly away,
Leaving shadows of yesterday.

Who's taken the wheel? I've lost track of the events.
Life lessons come with every cent spent.

Ex-wife, took flight, another chapter torn,
Hoping for a future where peace is reborn.

Playing the game, but the game's always changing,
Riding the wave, but the wave's always changing.
Running on empty, the tank's running dry,
Climbing the ladder, but it's built on a lie.

Now tell me, do you feel like a fool?
Caught in a cycle, breaking every rule.
Do you feel like a fool?
