See through your disguiseA Poem by Skylar LightenYour eyes can't lie to me. Why did you try?Everybody has a tell for their lies, And for you, I've seen through disguise. You shy away from the glare of lights, Trying too hard to seem overly wise, Yet your blue eyes betray, in their dry cries.
At this moment, doubts have sprouted, Something within you has shouted, A silent confession, quietly routed.
I glimpse a shy, sorry smile, Tinged with regret, a painful trial, A moment of remorse, so fragile, Revealing a sorrow, truly worthwhile. © 2024 Skylar Lighten |
