The Girl in Ink

The Girl in Ink

A Poem by skyelight

All my poetry combined

"

Maybelle

I once knew a girl

Who owned the world

And all the distant land.

She had a dream

Or so it seemed

A life so fair and grand.

And then one day

or so they say

she went to bed

Put a bullet in her head.

I'll never know

What made her go

Until I saw her dead.

Roses

Red as blood

Soft as silk

Petal fall like rain

Knowing only love

Knowing only pain

If I Were Me

If I were me

I'd fly a boat

And sail an ocean blue

I'd ride the wind

And sing a breeze

And jump the winding moon

If I were me

I'd make a wish

That I could be that too

And maybe one day

I'd be me

A girl that I once knew.
