Love of the Rain

Love of the Rain

A Poem by Skoolboy2011
"

idk...just read it and let me know what you think

"

Gray clouds begin to swallow the sun
lightning crashes and thunder roars,
gentle rain falls on my window pane
the wind blows and the trees sway
as cool air sneaks through the doors.

this is my domain
just as a clown needs the laughter
from the children in the crowd,
my mind demands for rain
i let the sky's weep for me
because as a man
I'm not allowed.

quiet storm show my emotions
ones I won't show myself,
my heart sometimes want to
but my eyes are all dried out
I have no tears left.

I can stare at the window
literally for hours on hand
wishing that that was me,
as the storm starts to pass
I hide again
wondering when the next shower will be.

I'm a strong individual
I know I can take sooo much,
but no amount of rainfall will ever bring you back
though I hate to say it
those bittersweet raindrops
will never be your touch.

i love this poem. its beautifully written. very descriptive, made me feel like i was standing on the edge of a storm. i love the lines "i let the sky's weep for me because as a man I'm not allowed." sadly, in this society, crying is a sign of weakness. it is taboo to be too emotional, especially for men. very strong, powerful poem.
