CellophaneA Poem by Lanaya
You may have stolen her parking spot at wall-mart, or maybe you didn't hear her speaking at your local coffee shop, as you shouted your order. She's the girl you know but, you don't really acknowledge. The soft voice with the kind eyes. The unselfish heart, who smiled and let you go before her in the bank because, she noticed how you looked rushed. You hadn't glanced her way and, you probably never will because, women like her fall under your radar. Her compassion is seen as weakness, little do people know the extent of her strength. At night she cries herself to sleep, feeling invisible, and forgotten, but those small moments are of little importance to you, shes simply just a stranger. She is but cellophane, unseen to those she craves most, replaceable to those she feels closest to. She's the girl you confide in when you need to talk, the friend you cried on when you needed comfort, and she is the woman you spent the night with and everything changed. But like cellophane she is invisible and thrown away.
