Taking the Sun

Taking the Sun

A Poem by Andreas Pelonis
"

Love is light, sadness is the absence of light.

"

Rain falls, crashing down on my roof
She's gone, emptiness echoes through the halls
Grey clouds complement my grey feeling
All I hear is water dripping down my walls

Brightness of day not today
Lightness of soul smothered
My witty banter silenced
My personality covered

Sitting in this chair remembering better days
Photo's laying on the table
Memories of past joy
Now lie vacant, void, my emotion unstable

Why did she leave like the sun today
Taking warmth and replacing it with chill
Why did she take my sun away
Ripping it out of my will
