Song

The words intertwined
Telling beautiful stories
And pulling you in over time

The wound reopened
And the pain sprang forth
Though no reaction was coming

Time ran thin
As the words were spoken
All time was stopped
The world became broken

Yet, the song rang through
Strong and clear
It healed the wounds
Of all that were near

The song it carried
Far as well as wide
It healed the people
Though it took some time

They all rejoiced
As the song died away
It was telling me
It was now time to play

We bid the song farewell
Though we're not sure why
The song was soon gone
As we all wanted to cry

The songs absence caused a feeling of loss
We still rejoiced
The song no longer rang
We held the melody close to our hearts
Just to keep away the pain
