One " Part Three I didn’t know how to respond. Should I
say that I liked long walks on the beach? How cliché " too cliché I decided. So
I listed the things I liked most in my mind. “I love vanilla ice-cream, interesting
graffiti, small animals and helping other people,” I said. “That must be why you’re a waitress,”
Andrea said with a small smile. “That’s certainly possible, though I
wouldn’t have thought waitressing would be on the top ten list of how to help
your community.” “I don’t see why it shouldn’t be.” Dinner arrived and we ate in silence
for a few minutes. I was starting to relax a bit, maybe it was the wine; I’d
just started my third glass. Andrea was as calm as she always seemed to be,
effortlessly comfortable. “So what do you do?” I asked. “This and that, nothing fixed. I do a
bit of painting, sculpture and design. I’m studying graphics at TAFE.” “Do you like it?” “Yes, I do. Do you like waitressing?” “Surprisingly, I do. I’ve been a
waitress at The Little Teapot for five years now.” “That’s a long time, how old were you
when you started?” “Seventeen, I’m twenty-two now.” “I’m twenty, in case you were
wondering. You don’t look twenty-two.” “I’ll take that as a compliment.” “So you should, so you should.” We were silent for a moment, each
seemingly caught up in our own little worlds. There was so much to be said.
Then it happened. In the time it took my heart to beat,
Andrea’s lips were on mine. It was amazing, the softest and sexiest kiss I’ve
ever enjoyed. It only lasted a few seconds, but it was enough to send a shock
down my spine and make those butterflies dance inside me. “I like you, you’re sincere,” Andrea
said. I smiled a little and didn’t reply, I
didn’t know what to say. A look of surprise and joy came across
