I wonder what may wait beyond

I wonder what may wait beyond

A Poem by Skib

I wonder what
may wait beyond
such blinding light
or heavenly song
from that ideal
this world seems bleak
next to countered Gothic chic
Does the Devil
step where we once walked?
or whisper lies
into our talk?
Perhaps that is fiction,
comment I cannot
for all I know
We are destined to rot
Like everything organic
we spoil and expire
until then we must
beat and perspire
then gently wiping
said sweat from our brows
we deal with tomorrows
Trials and tales

I wonder why we toil and sweat and stress over life and money when we are only here for such a short time. if you believe in the after life that's great but for me it's lights out when the time comes, my battery is not rechargeable and I won't keep going and going in another realm. I like this poem because you'll get a lot of different opinions on what is next

I share the same logic. when you die, you die. Thank you for your interpretation and time. :)
I wonder too! a lovely write! Nice flow on pondering thoughts!

I really enjoyed the rhythm, and the subject. Very contemplative and real!
