Rainy Day Poem

Rainy Day Poem

A Poem by kaycee

rain and wind and parking meters,

traffic and city and the other drivers,

you and me and our cloth jackets,

puddles and trash and the promise of blankets,

umbrellas left in back seats,

skinny wallets, expensive phones,

linked arms and unplanned poems,

thinking coffee, talking wine,

running fast while there's still time,

mumbling prayers to our urban shrine.
