Another Pretty Thing

Another Pretty Thing

A Poem by kaycee

time slips,

you lick my lips

and still

i feel nothing.

your throat screams red for me,

but your lies bleed

a crucifixion of

the purest lust, the plainest greed.

i am just another pretty thing.

i let you stake a claim,

it's all the same to me.

sometimes i just like to pretend

like i am lucky.

i'm wondering how long

until there is something,

but i'm far from deluded;

i know it's not coming.

I. Adore. This.
Really, I know these feelings so well, and I love how vividly you describe them. I love these lines the most

the last line is my favorite.
the build up- and then the final, slow, release.
like a deep long breath in, and a quiet sigh.

you always have the best ending lines.
