Mary

Mary

A Poem by Conor Mac

Sweet, sweet Mary
Dressed green head to feet
My sweet, sweet Mary
Has me stuck to my seat
My sweet, sweet Mary
With your beautiful red hair
Sweet, sweet Mary
Take me somewhere, anywhere

Do you remember when we danced
In the field under blue skies?
We lay down and wept
you left me with red eyes

Sweet, sweet Mary
That beautiful scent
Sweet, sweet Mary
You helped me repent
Sweet, sweet Mary
Don’t leave me yet
Sweet, sweet Mary
You helped me forget
