There was quite a storm that night. Thunder clouds. Lightning. Waves. A boat with a ripped sail and two lonely passengers, well, three if you count the dog. They sat huddled together, yes, even the dog, teeth chit chattering and backs shiv shivering, eyes hopelessly looking up at the clouds.

“Aye knews it, aye knews it, aye should ha’ never gone on this here ruddy boat. Aye’d ben betta off with them Bullingers than aye am ‘ere.” came the cry of the taller passenger, hunched over his knees and using the sail to keep as much of the water off him as possible. It was not working, and the rain just poured harder and harder down his shirt.

The smaller passenger comforted the dog, who was whining quite horribly now due to his awful case of seasickness. “It will get better,” the boy whispered to the dog, but he was cut off by a brutal crack! of thunder. He peered nervously around him for a while before turning to the dog again, who had closed his eyes and resigned himself to his doggy fate.

“An why’d ya havta bring that mutt ‘ere anyhow? e’s not gonna do us any good. Just gonna eat the chow like the beast ‘e is,”

The boy glared at his tall companion. He was beginning to like Snidely Green less and less. The wind picked up with a thick whoosh and the boy shrugged his head further into his shoulders.

“It will get better,” he repeated. “It always gets better.”
