The Hidden Mirror

The Hidden Mirror

A Poem by Sonia

There in the midst of a thousand faces
covered artwork on the sill
hidden behind tainted cloth
clasped in iron's unyielding will

And there the artist, with frantic eyes,
implores to them and vainly cries
"Will no one see?
Will no one see?

Will no one see the world I paint,
with cruel strokes, and color faint?
Will no one know?
Will no one know?

A finer looking glass you could not find,
Oh hear the bellows pigmented through time!
Will no one accept?
Will no one accept?"

Yet the frail and weak are timid still,
and though you try and accost,
none will tear the sheet from its place,
and so the crime is lost.

This makes me think a great deal. I have put in in my library, because I must read and reread.

It is hard to see the beauty and wonderful things in our life. Most people are lost in their own life and goals. We need to stop and look around us. Look for the good in all things. I like the complete poem. The ending made the poem have purpose and reason. A excellent poem. Thank you.
