False Perceptions

False Perceptions

A Poem by Sonia

Excitement builds up so easily
Snuffed out with a sickening blow
Always second place, runner up
Nothing good to show

Her voice speaks loud and clear
Her beauty undeniable
Me a worthless wretch
Unchangeable, unpliable

With cloddish hands i wish to create
but only break do i
Unpractical and childish
Fool myself with lies

I used to think grandeur
Now only dirt and rubble
Underneath a taller shadow
Denying not worth the trouble
