Only in a Dream

my dream day is to meet that person that i want to spend my life with, and to feel the flutter in my heart that can only come with love :)

I'll wake up to the smell of flowers
with sunshine on my face
no buzzing alarm

I'll get up and look good for once
in the clothes I'll wear
my hair soft

It would be a summer day
in middle of January
and I'll meet him

Not just any him, him
and he'll smile and shake my hand
and I'll try to smile back
despite the strangeness in my throat

We'll walk away, saying 'see ya' or 'bye'
and I'll be left dazed
biting my lip

I'll remember my logic and sense
and shake off the flutters
but I'll hope

And then he'll come again, bold
and grab my hand
like a movie

We'll be in an old black and white romance
with slow and deep music
dancing in eternal circles
completely picturesque

He'll hold my hand and bid me
"good night, love"
and I'll float

Into the soft and warm bed
gazing into the moon
remembering him

And into dreams I'll fall, still clutching
the hand he held
forever warm

this is just what first love does .. it churns up emotions that had been alien to us till now . sweet and yet holding the ground - that's what your write is . just a word - when you do find 'him' never let go cause there is no love like first love . i guess you very well know that . nice write
