For the "through the eyes of a child" contest The view of a little first grader in his science class

My teacher said the world is round
       Just like my bouncy ball!
       But bigger,
       much, much bigger

She says that this thing
      Called gravy
      makes an apple fall down from a tree
      Once my mommy made gravy for thanksgiving
      It didn't taste so good
      She also made apple pie
      But we didn't put gravy on it

My teacher also said
      That the earth spins round
      in circles
      When i spin round
      I get dizzy
      but only if i go really really fast.
      Does the earth get dizzy too?

The earth spins on an ax
      My daddy uses an ax
      to chop chop chop wood
      in the winter.

My teacher told me
     that even if you go to the south pole
     you won't fall into space
     because gravy keeps you stuck to the ground
     I wonder if Santa had ever been to the south pole
     Maybe all the gravy
     keeps his reindeer from flying

I learned in school
     that the earth goes round the sun
     My brother said
     that if you stare at the sun too long
     you'll go blind
     (that's when you can't see
     and everything goes dark)

My teacher said that the world is round
