The Silent Observer

The Silent Observer

A Poem by Sonia
"

...

"
That little boy with the bright blue eyes
As deep as the oceans, as vast as the skies
That little angel

That larger boy with the speckled mug
As spotted and coarse as an old burber rug
That follower of Satan

That little boy with his eyes shut tight
Clenched his teeth, braced for the fight
That apocalypse

That thick red blood trickling down
Gave him the painted smile of a clown
That holy liquid

That silent observer who saw the crime
Her lips fused shut, a frightened mime
That wide-eyed deer

The threats that rang the morning after
When the angel was pushed from the rafter
That wingless flight

That little boy with the bright blue eyes
That silent observer who heard his cries
That oppressor
