Wingless ButterflyA Poem by Sonia
Wingless butterfly in my breast
salt upon my lips Fluttering dimly in my head the memory of a kiss The dying warmth of a hand in mine which held so snug and tight the glowing gaze upon my face extinguished like a light His blood across my apron his last breaths upon my hands the shaking eyes which asked for help our glittering wedding bands Then a crack and endless falling an abyss of solitude The pain and endless suffering just a meager prelude And as the butterfly weeps and moans and slowly begins to die my heart it withers and floats away and with it so do I © 2010 SoniaAuthor's Note
