War

It is time,

and it will hopefully end soon.

It is dark out,

and there is no peace in the air.

There are soldiers,

and lots of them.

Serving for their country,

even though their country isn’t being friendly.

It is getting darker now,

and the soldiers aren’t alone.

Danger is flying through the air,

and they are not safe.

It is getting colder now,

and they want to see their families.

Wishing the war would end,

but it’s not even close.

Some are scared,

and some are ready.

While having no choice,

they do what they’re told.

Some will experience death,

and some will get to go home.

Some may never be the same again,

and some will not look back.

very good write. I liked this the best of the 3 you have up right now. it is clean, direct, has a solid message.

you might like one I wrote about a man who did make it home and now deals with PTSD "Not the Man I Was (song)"
