Lie

She was looking at the aeroplanes through the glass windows with excitement and was checking the names on them with the ticket in her hands.

"Priya! It's time to go.",Her father called out to her stretching out his hand

"Dad, I found our plane! See, It has the same name.",She said pointing at the plane, with the excitement of finding what she was searching for the past 30 minutes.

As she took his hand, he said,"Yes honey. Now can we see how it looks inside." and they went through the entrance and boarded the plane. By the next 5 minutes they found and sat in their seats and she said, "Dad! This is not fair. Always you get to sit near the window and I don't! When we are coming back, I'm going sit by the window."

As he was saying ," Sure, You can hon...", a female voice called at him with a curiosity,"Karthik!" and both of them focused their look at her. Priya was standing not far from them and was looking at him and the little girl next to him.

He was left without words to speak and his daughter broke the silence with a "Hi Aunty!" and she smiled back at her. He came close to his daughter and whispered, "She is the aunt, I used to tell you stories about." . As he turned back to her, she said, " Cute girl! It's nice to see you with your daughter. Where is your mom darling?" and the girl promptly replied,"Mom's out on a tour with friends. We are going to see her."

She sat next to the girl and was thinking about what to speak. When the girl moved from the place, she asked him,"When did you adopt her Karthik?".

"The process took 6 months and it's been 3 years. ", he said looking at her eyes which were still looking at him without blinking.

"It's good that you didn't tell her the truth. I wish we didn't.."
She stopped this abruptly as Priya was approaching and started things like her hobbies, toys etc..

When the plane landed and they were about to depart she said, " When you get back home, aunty will come to see you and your mom. Karthik, I'll try to come and see your wife someday." and she left.

He was looking at her motionless even after her image disappeared .

"Dad, What if she asks for mom when she visits us?"

He turn to his daughter, knelt down holding her shoulders and said, "She won't, Honey"
