The Unsent Letter

The Unsent Letter

A Poem by C.B.
"

I decided I should burn this bridge, so this is me bombing it.

"

I wrote you a letter, and no, I didn’t send it.

But after a month and a half I re-read it, and realized this:

I grew, and now I’m stronger and smarter.

Back then I never would have known that in this letter viewable by only me,

I found the best words I’ve ever heard.

My favorite quotation of all I’ve read

Was one that I said to no one but me

“I don’t need you to complete me anymore,

For I’ve decided to complete myself.”

AMEN. Powerful statement made here. Keep writing. I hope you don't mind if I don't rate. I don't give or accept ratings anymore. Just seems a waste of time. I hope the narrator holds on to the sense of empowerment found within these lines. Such a healthy and uplifting sentiment, really. "I don't need you to complete me anymore, For I've decided to complete myself." Brilliant.

My name is Caroline, and I've been writing for about 10 years. I mainly focus on horror, but when I write it really depends on my mood. I'm not an angry or dark person, but I have thoughts which need .. more..
