So

So

A Poem by C.B.
"

Depression

"

It's over.
It's so over,
And I can't remember when it began.
Your smile, your lips, your eyes-
This cliche list of things I miss
And I know you think of me.
I ended it.
I so ended it,
And I can't remember beginning it.
This dread and painful recollection
Words I sing, things I cry, never
Desisting. Never cease. Never gone.
You're gone.
You're so gone.
And I can't remember watching you leave.
Where did you go? I know-
I keep watch over you, just in case
You ever need me, though you never needed me.
I'm dead.
I'm so dead.
And I can remember dying from the pain.
But I'm convinced,
So convinced,
That in death we will be together again.

Didn't quite expect the ending. I fell into the nice easy-going style, the alternate short and long line (all working effectively) and thought we'd wind up at some sort of broken-heart cliff off which we could leap together. Then, it turned into something of an end of life poem. Not a bad way to finish things off.

My name is Caroline, and I've been writing for about 10 years. I mainly focus on horror, but when I write it really depends on my mood. I'm not an angry or dark person, but I have thoughts which need .. more..
