I Could Have Sworn I Saw the Moon Blink

I Could Have Sworn I Saw the Moon Blink

A Poem by C.B.

I could have sworn I saw the moon blink.
A devastating gesture, the heavens overlooking
Just a millisecond of the evil of this world.

I could of sworn God turned his head just at that moment
And justice was nowhere to be found.
I felt for the poor soul to look up and see God had shut his eye
To the horror, carnage, and hellfire that engulfs our world.
For such a brief moment, all people lost faith and hope
As they looked at the full moon and saw it quiver,
Shake, and vanish
Like a light bulb burning out.

I could have sworn the moon blinked,
But in my perspective, I realized the moon is but one eye,
And maybe God simply winked.

This is quite good, Caroline. Unique and fresh, you've avoided the usual, cliched perspective on such things.

About
My name is Caroline, and I've been writing for about 10 years. I mainly focus on horror, but when I write it really depends on my mood. I'm not an angry or dark person, but I have thoughts which need .. more..
