I Lied

I Lied

A Poem by C.B.

It's all burning,

Dreamily, you murmur,

Harmonic murder

And I-

Have nothing to say.

But who the hell really cares

It's not as if it is one of my paramount fears...

You leaving wouldn't leave any tears

Behind-

My back, you say.

Worried? are you kidding?

Honey all my life I've been sinning.

I'm open for business, for whoever's bidding

Not shy-

...ing away I say.

Who needs you, anyway?

Who really has the gaul to say

That there's no reason not to stay.

I lie-

I need you, I say.

There is a real person behind this, whether it is a fictional character or you, they are very, very real, you breathed life into them with a voice that really, if we're honest, not many writers have. It was like being spoken to, at times yelled at, brilliant and came together really well.

The way you have written it kind of reminds me of how Edgar Allen Poe writes. Not the topic of course more of the style of writting rather then the words. The push and pull as the previous reviewer said. Nice write loved how you made it all come together.

I love the whole, "Push/Pull" feel of this piece. It has a very nice flow, a harmonic dance of sorts. Beautiful!
