The Sins of a Father

The Sins of a Father

A Story by Loki Gress
"

This is a modernized version of the classic parable the two sons and one runs away to return afterwords.

"
A man is married to a beautiful wife with a substantial job and a fair income. They have a child and the father stops working, the father leaves his family because he can't stand to hear his wife complain and his son cry. Twenty years pass the boy becomes a man and he grows with no man to call dad. The son walks down the street and sees a man and his son poor but happy as can be, the son gives them money and silently prays to see his own father again someday. Later that day the father walks down the same street and sees the same family laughing playing and joyful as can be, he places two hundred dollars in a coffee cup and gives it to the father, while silently praying to the lord to see his own child again. The father continues walking down the street and runs into a bar, he walks inside and unknowingly sits down next to his son, the son orders a drink for him and the stranger and starts talking to him the son says to him "I came across a homeless man and his son playing in the street and thought toy self 'wow they don't have a home any money or anything but each other and thats all that matters.' I never had a father you know  felt so happy to the family. My name is Kristian by the way." The man next to hm started to cry and he asked "Whats the matter old man?" In reply the father said " My boy I found you after all these years, I wished and I prayed that someday I would see you again. Giving up on your mother was the worst thing I ever did. I am your father my boy, I am sorry I missed playing with you I missed your first steps, your first words. Oh if I could turn back time I would, my boy I missed you." The son thinking the man was crazy realized he was telling the truth.
