like endless rain

into

They slither

They slip away

across the

I hear these words

floating through the speakers

and see the scene unfolding

on the screen

in front of me.

I harmonize with

a female voice

that I first heard

23 days ago,

but I don’t sing.

you would notice

if I did.

That’s just how you are.

way back in April

when you would

have been happy

to come with me.

I know you have

that you would rather

be sitting in my place

but I only want to be

already drifting

I glance at you.

I look down.

You try and catch

my gaze

but I revert

my attention

back to the screen

until I feel your hand

and promptly let go.
