Let Go

Let Go

A Poem by Jessica

Every time you come close to me,

I can’t breathe, I can’t think.

I feel like I’m losing my mind.

I slowly slip away.

What are we holding on to?

There’s nothing left for us here.

Those happy days we once had,

Are all gone.

Love was what I was trying to find,

I fought all that I could.

I waited for the happy place

That never came.

I tried to believe that

If I held on for as long as I could

I could save what we once were; what we once had.

It’s over. It’s all over now.

I couldn’t face the fact of losing you,

But sometimes it’s best for us to just stop

And walk away from what’s bringing us down.

So, this is where I let go. This is when I walk away.

The impacted emotion stray's never, it latches onto the reader and leaves us wounded, well done, good read.
