Claustrophobia

Claustrophobia

A Poem by singingtree

thump thump thump
my heart echos
disappearing into the darkness
tink tink tink
a piercing bell sounds
cutting through my eardrum
sweat trickles
down my back
moistening the ground
cramping pain
my mind is suctioned
into a tight wad
hidden under my skull
my limbs are tense
everything shuts down
with a burst my heart bangs
trying to break out
my ears scream
determined with frustration
my back is drenched
all exertion wasted
my mind bursts out of its ball
pushing into my skull
without asking my limbs
shake and quiver
nothing
everything
thoughts race
antagonizing pain
nothing is useful
everything is pain
no air
breathes are precious
so far apart
not enough
need for more
more air
all I need is out
