"I'm here, I'm here"A Poem by Hannah BerryShe’s sinking down and down. I try calling out to her, reaching out my hand- “I’m here,” I cry..
“I’m here,” but she fails to see me for what I am, which is there; ready to save her from herself, and all that wears her down. So she sinks deeper and deeper out of my reach and all the
while, I’m throwing down ropes and ladders and threads of hope, but she’s too caught up in the dark. I can no longer see the desperate pale eyes, glowing while searching for another way out, or the freckled hands clawing away at the black “Im here,” I whisper, my voice falling into nothing, but she’s withered within her lonely self and she’s sunk down and down and she is no longer here. © 2013 Hannah BerryAuthor's Note
