Sword & Sheath: No Words

Sword & Sheath: No Words

A Poem by Sincere

When your mouth opens

And no words flow through

Let me speak for you

When you're all cried out

Let my tears replace

So many that has fallen

When you've fallen

I'll fall with you

Laying by your side

Telling you I'm here

When you are ready to rise

We shall rise together

Un sheath me

Inherit my strength

Feel the regeneration

Flow through your body

Hand in heart

Heart and hand

Once were two now we are one

When words are few to less

Our love has progressed

Your pain is shared

Between two hearts

I love you

This is a great start; I really identify with "When your mouth opens / And no words flow through / Let me speak for you." A few little nits: "So many that HAVE fallen" fixes the tense. "Hand in heart" kind of throws me because it's not something I can visualize; did you mean you have a hand in forming someone else's feelings? The last part, I'm not sure if centering it was deliberate, but I'd leave it left lined with the rest. Honestly, if I hadn't read that part, I would've liked the poem just as well. I'm a big fan of poetry that shows without telling, and I think the part beginning with "Once were two now we are one" through the end gives away the whole concept. Make readers work for it; we like it that way, I promise. :-)
