Withering Rose

Withering Rose

A Poem by Sincere

Don’t wither away

Take the wound

Freshly opened

And drink from its river

Taste its remedy

Deposit the despair

Sense the sadness

Hear the soul crying

Witness the heart breaking

Don’t wither away

Left alone

With countless thoughts

Traveling through your mind

Vision impaired

Surrounded by darkness

Incredible pain within

Don’t wither away

How is one to stand

Against a task so great

How is one to believe

When belief has been shattered

How is one to dream

When tomorrow is forgotten

O beautiful rose

Please don’t wither away

Continue to mature

Replace lost pedals

Radiate your fragrance

The first thing that attracted me to read this poem was its name. A withering rose can hold so many artistic qualities, symbolising the death of a loved one, or love itself.

Apart from the positioning of the stanzas adding a great touch, each verse sounds automatic, yet gives off the impression that they were chosen over a period of 100 years, so as to capture true beauty. Not sure if you understand me on this, but its like one day in a magical place is one year on Earth.

Well done! For every pain that takes its toll, a blood-red petal falls.

Very beautiful. This I believe the is speaking the delicate rose within us all.

And this the possibility of repairing a heart that is broken.

Or it could just be as the title a delicate rose. Whatever the meaning, I loved the verse. Keep up the good work. Well written piece.
