For a woman, honesty is a blunt fallacy Her heart is a cocoon of secrets She must only be brutal, right ? To speak out what her mind holds.
Because, you see, what she sees Is unreliable, mostly Here comes her ability to perceive And she tweaks the lies out of the web.
But when she closes her eyes, The world around gets sucked into a black hole Still she feels the joy Of envisioning a dream.
What is a dream ? Anything but well laid facts Her soul strives for sensuality So she will be the truth and live it, too.
To bed, she will take what she can explore A dream of truth, but only which is tried many times She would rather be seduced with an experienced truth Than a virgin fact, a truth unsexed.
Unsexed means or what Kahlil Gibran meant in his aphorisms was a virgin, not explored yet. I only meant to extend his thought with my perspective and imagination.

I have six sisters and three daughters. I know woman are complex and don't pissed them off. I like the honest and directness of the poem. The ending lines I liked a lot.
"To bed, she will take what she can explore
A dream of truth, but only which is tried many times
She would rather be seduced with an experienced truth
Than a virgin fact, a truth unsexed."
I tell the young men. Best ensure your woman is content too. Need two to dance and best make it fun and entertaining. Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry.

It is true. I know woman. No option with a house filled with them.
You did a good job here unfold the truth of woman.
" For a woman, honesty is a blunt
fallacy
Her heart is a cocoon of secrets
She must only be brutal, right ?
To speak out what her mind holds."
these are very common trait of every woman. Namrata liked your straight forwardness.
She would rather be seduced with an experienced truth
Than a virgin fact, a truth unsexed. I love this line.this poem seems to be personal to.let me tell you in something in the spirit of love, for the word unsexed, you may try the word undersexed,i do not think unsex is a word,I hope I do not offend you

I will admit that once I started reading this, I thought of it as another feminist (I'm against the whole Feminist ideology) issue thing but as I progressed the piece started shaping up into the deeper meanings; that was relieving
"Her soul strives for sensuality
So she will be the truth and live it, too."
There is something in the Persian school of thought that has echoed in this which I will say impressed me.
Good write.
Some places, the articles can be avoided to achieve a more profound meaning like:
#For a woman, honesty is blunt fallacy
#The world around her gets sucked into black holes
#She would rather be seduced with experienced truth (or the experienced truth)
but this is not a big issue so you can choose to heed it or let it be, it's fine either way.

I see you quoted Khalil Gibran and he belonged to that school, but not very strictly, as he adhered to Christianity, Judaism as well.
If you have just read some internet quotes, I will advise you to stop doing that immediately and look up books by Rumi, Shams of Tabriz, Faiz and well, Gibran to start with. You will see what I mean :)

Gibran is my favorite philosopher. His aphorisms and The Broken Wings to mention only a few. And my favorite poem of his- Song of Fortune.
I have hardly met people who read Gibran.

I don't have a favourite philosopher, I keep finding someone new whom I like.
But among the Persians, I love Rumi the most.
And no, no, you can say neither have I. Gibran, I have read but two-three years ago, that too not prolifically. I gave up pdfs two years ago and never bought a book by him so I've not explored him but The Poet from 'A Tear and A Smile' by him can be a favourite. I think it was in the same collection as Song of Fortune, I don't remember it at the moment. All I know about him is from what my Dii told me about him and of course, the internet.
